About this product

Products in this line are chosen by model code: there are six molds, each distinguished by body shape, orientation, and how the card is released. The rigid body keeps the card flat; because the print and laminate don't wear down, the card lasts noticeably longer and replacement costs drop. To take the card out, just push it up with your thumb through the finger notch in the body — there's no need to unclip the holder from the lanyard. The slot and holes at the top edge attach directly to a lanyard, a clip, or a yo-yo reel. The rigid models come in clear and colored options; the color coding can also be used to tell departments or authorization levels apart from a distance.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Plastic Card Holders. If you don't find your question here, you can call us.

Which model should I choose?

Start by deciding the orientation: if the card will hang horizontally on the lanyard, choose 308, 313, 305, or 309; if it needs to hang vertically, choose 313-L. Then pick the body — the rigid models (308, 313, 313-L, 305) keep the card flat and protect it more; the 309 is a soft sleeve, so it's thinner and lighter. There's a separate model, the 307, sized for a driver's license.

Do I need to unclip the holder from the lanyard to take the card out?

No. The finger notch on the rigid models exists for exactly this: push the card up with your thumb, present it to the reader, then push it back down. The holder stays hanging on the lanyard the whole time. The shape of the notch varies by model — a half-circle on the side edge for the 308, an oval opening on the front face for the 313, and a teardrop-shaped slot in the center for the 305.

What's a colored holder useful for?

Color makes it possible to tell people apart at a distance. When staff, visitor, contractor, and student cards each get a different color, you can tell who's allowed where without reading the card itself. The same method is also used to distinguish between departments.
