About Card Holders & Accessories
A card holder protects an ID card from being crushed in a pocket, worn down by repeated swiping through a reader, and frayed at the edges — it extends the card's life and lowers replacement costs. There are two lines, and the choice mostly comes down to how the card is carried day to day. The rigid-body holder keeps the card flat and suits a staff card that's presented to a reader many times a day. The soft PVC sleeve is thinner and lighter, and comes in a wider range of sizes — beyond the standard card, it also takes larger printed inserts like trade-fair badges, visitor passes and program cards. Both have a slot and hole at the top edge and clip straight onto a lanyard or a badge clip.

Frequently asked questions about Card Holders & Accessories. If you don't find your question here, you can call us.
Should I get the rigid or the soft holder?
If the card gets presented to a reader many times a day, the rigid holder is the better fit — it keeps the card flat and lets you push it out through the finger notch. If the card is used only occasionally, is a non-standard size, or is being handed out to a large number of people, the soft PVC sleeve is thinner, lighter and more economical.
Do I really need a card holder?
A card gets swiped against a reader dozens of times a day and gets crushed in pockets and bags. A holder protects the print and the edges, so it noticeably extends the card's life — for organizations with a large headcount, that adds up to real savings on card replacement.
What size does a standard card fit?
The standard card is 85.6 × 54 mm. Rigid plastic holders are made to that size. In the soft PVC sleeves, the 9.3 × 6.3 and 9.6 × 6.3 cm sizes take the card in landscape and the 6.6 × 9.0 cm size takes it in portrait; the larger sizes are for trade-fair and event badges.
Can I order it together with a lanyard?
Yes. We produce our own lanyards; the slot and hole at the top of the holder fit standard clip, carabiner and yo-yo reel fittings. The card, lanyard and holder can all be planned into a single order.
